Sam was a shy boy who loved music. His school was having a Christmas concert, and everyone was excited. The teacher said, "We will sing Christmas carols. Who wants to sing a solo?"
Sam felt his heart beat faster. He loved singing, but he was afraid to sing alone.
His friend Lucy said, "You should try, Sam. You have a beautiful voice."
At home, Sam told his father about the concert.
"You should go for it," his father said. "You have a gift."
"But what if I forget the words?" Sam asked.
"Practice makes perfect," his father replied. "Let's practice together."
Every evening, Sam and his father practiced "Jingle Bells" and "Silent Night." Sam sang, and his father played the piano.
"You are getting better each day," his father said.
On the day of the concert, Sam was nervous.
Backstage, he saw the big audience. He felt like running away.
His teacher noticed and said, "You can do it, Sam. Just sing from your heart."
When it was his turn, Sam walked onto the stage. The lights were bright.
He looked out and saw his parents smiling and giving him a thumbs-up.
He took a deep breath and started singing.
His voice filled the hall. He sang every note perfectly.
When he finished, the audience stood up and clapped loudly.
"Bravo, Sam!" they shouted.
After the concert, his teacher said, "I am so proud of you!"
His friends said, "You were amazing!"
At home, his parents hugged him.
"You were wonderful," his mother said.
His father handed him a wrapped box.
"Open it," he said.
Inside was a new guitar with a red bow.
"Wow!" Sam exclaimed. "Thank you so much!"
He strummed the guitar and smiled.
That night, Sam knew that facing his fears made him stronger.
He learned that Christmas is a time to share your gifts with others.
