Ben lived in a big city. One day, he saw a small tree in the market. It was the last Christmas tree.
He asked his mother, "Can we buy it?"
"Yes, let's take it home," she said.
At home, they decorated the tree with lights and ornaments. That night, Ben couldn't sleep. He went to look at the tree. The lights were twinkling like stars.
Suddenly, the tree whispered, "Hello, Ben."
Ben was surprised. "You can talk!"
"Yes," said the tree. "I have a Christmas wish for you."
"What is it?" Ben asked.
"I want you to help someone who needs it," the tree said.
The next day, Ben saw his neighbor, Mr. Jones. He was old and alone.
Ben thought about the tree's wish. He went to Mr. Jones and said, "Would you like to have dinner with us on Christmas?"
Mr. Jones smiled. "Thank you, Ben. I would like that very much."
On Christmas Day, they had a wonderful dinner. Mr. Jones told stories about when he was young.
After dinner, Ben told his mother about the magic tree.
She smiled and said, "The magic of Christmas is in your heart."
That night, the tree whispered, "Well done, Ben."
Ben knew that kindness was the true magic.
