Samut Prakan is a small province in Central Thailand. To the north and west is Bangkok. To the east is Chachoengsao. To the south is the Gulf of Thailand. Samut Prakan is at the mouth of the Chao Phraya River where it runs into the Gulf of Thailand. The western side of the river is mainly rice fields, shrimp farms and mangrove forests. On the eastern side, it is mainly shops, homes and factories.
