This is Malee. She is fifteen years old. She lives in Paknam on Sukhumwit Road. There are five people in her family. She has one younger brother and one older sister. Malee and her brother both go to Sriwittayapaknam School. Her elder sister goes to Satree Secondary School. They live with their parents in a townhouse. It has four floors with a small garden at the front. In the house they have three bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen and a study. Malee shares a bedroom with her sister. Her brother sleeps alone.

Malee’s father is an accountant. He works in Bangkok. He goes to work by car at about 7 a.m. He works very hard and does a lot of overtime. Malee’s mother works in the local market. She sells fruit. She often brings some fruit home for everyone to eat. Malee’s younger brother is called Manit. He is 12 years old and he is in Primary 6. He likes playing video games and reading cartoon books. Malee’s elder sister is called Meena. She is 18 years old and she is in Grade 12. She studies hard because she will go to university soon.

Malee has a penfriend called Jane. She is 17 years old and comes from England. She lives in the south of England near London. For the past two years they have been writing letters to each other. It started as a school project but they enjoyed it so much that they didn’t stop. In their letters they talked about their family, friends, life at school and other gossip. Jane doesn’t have any brothers or sisters. She lives in a two storey house in a town called Sevenoaks. They have two bedrooms upstairs and a living room and kitchen downstairs. They also have a small garden at the back of the house where her father grows some vegetables. Jane’s father is a bus driver. Her mother is a teacher in a primary school.

Next week, Jane will be coming to Thailand for the first time with her parents. They will be on holiday in Thailand for two weeks. During the first week they will go to Bangkok and Phuket. Then, for five days Jane will stay with Malee in Samut Prakan. Her parents will fly to Chiang Mai. Both Malee and Jane are very excited about meeting for the first time. Malee is planning on showing Jane around Samut Prakan.
