Rules for Hard and Soft C and G

When the letter C or G is followed by the letters I, E or Y they have a soft sound. For example:

SOFT C: city, cent, icy, face, rice, police, mice, ice, circle
SOFT G: giant, angel, gym, cage, danger, huge, orange

HARD C: card, cook, cold, cap, cat, corn
HARD G: goat, glass, gas, gum, glue, dragon, foggy
