Preecha had never been to an English camp before, so he felt both nervous and excited when his teacher chose him to attend. The camp took place at a resort in Kanchanaburi, surrounded by green mountains and a flowing river. Preecha shared a room with three classmates he knew only a little, but this was a chance to make new friends.

On the first day, they played ice-breaker games, such as “Find Someone Who” and “Human Bingo,” to practice speaking English in fun ways. Preecha discovered that another student, Mali, loved the same football team he did. They bonded immediately.

Each evening, there were group presentations. Every team performed a short skit in English about Thai culture. Preecha’s group showcased a traditional dance while explaining its history. Despite feeling shy, Preecha realized that making small mistakes in English was okay because everyone was learning together.

On the final night, the camp organizers arranged a barbecue by the river. The students roasted corn and sang songs around a campfire. By the end of the camp, Preecha felt more confident in speaking English. He also made several new friends who shared his interests, and he looked forward to practicing English more often at school.
