A Special Day

Today is a special day at our school. It is when we show respect and gratitude to our teachers for all of their hard work. In Thai, we call this ceremony "Wai Khru". The word "wai" means to pay respect and the word "khru" means teacher. So, on this day we show appreciation to our teachers. We give them some flowers and thank them for teaching us well. They will then bless us and wish us good luck. I will also pay respect to my old teachers in kindergarten. The Wai Khru ceremony always takes place on a Thursday near the start of the new school year.
